Gapwaves and Waymo partner to advance next-generation imaging radar for autonomous vehicles
Gapwaves has been granted funding from Vinnova and the Swedish Energy Agency through Future Mobility to advance Gapwaves’ Multi-Layer Waveguide (MLW) technology for the next-generation imaging radar for fully autonomous vehicles (AV). The project will be carried out in partnership with Waymo , a global leader in AV technology and robotaxi services headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA.
New Project: Strategic Collaboration Between Sweden and California for Heavy-Duty Hydrogen Transport
Through the new SENITH project, a platform for knowledge exchange between leading research environments and industrial actors in Sweden and the United States is established. The focus is on identifying the necessary conditions for a successful introduction of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty vehicles.
Eleven transatlantic projects set to accelerate sustainable mobility
Eleven new innovation projects were launched in November 2025, bringing together actors from Sweden and the United States to advance sustainable mobility. The project's focus on electrified, autonomous, shared, and connected transport and cover areas such as high-precision vehicle radars, hydrogen trucks, electric ferries, electric roads, and urban mobility solutions.
