Welcome to a webinar where insights and lessons learned from a knowledge exchange between Sweden and the USA will be presented. Within a project financed by Future Mobility, VTI (the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute), the City of Gothenburg, and the City of Helsingborg visited the North-western USA to see how they are working with smart solutions for urban logistics. The webinar is held in Swedish.

The webinar will be held in Swedish.

Urban logistics is facing significant challenges as our cities expand and sustainability demands intensify. How can digital technology contribute to creating more efficient and sustainable freight transport in the urban environment?

In this exclusive webinar, co-hosted by Drive Sweden and Future Mobility, we zoom in on key takeaways from how American cities are tackling these pressing issues. The project team presenting their findings traveled to the U.S. specifically to gather these insights, a journey funded through a Future Mobility innovation project. Now, they share how Sweden can leverage their experiences.

The team conducted an in-depth study of innovative solutions, including:

  • Zero Emission Zones (ZEZs): Examining initiatives in cities like Portland, Oregon, and how these insights can be applied as Gothenburg explores the implementation of its own Environmental Zone 3 (Miljözon 3).

  • Curb Management: A close look at cities such as Seattle, Washington, where sensors and cameras are being deployed to monitor and manage activity at the urban curb, optimizing crucial loading and unloading zones.

  • Delivery Robot Policy: Analyzing the policy work underway in Los Angeles regarding autonomous delivery robots, noting both the differences and similarities compared to current Swedish pilot programs and regulatory frameworks.
