Vinnova and Lindholmen Science Park invest in increased collaboration between Sweden and the US to accelerate innovation in sustainable mobility. The Future Mobility initiative will stimulate knowledge transfer, new perspectives on solutions and innovations for a wider market. A call is now open for collaborations between actors in Sweden and the USA that contribute to sustainable mobility and strengthen the countries' respective innovation systems.
International collaborations and resulting innovations are crucial both for Sweden's competitiveness and knowledge development as well as for global sustainable development. The Future Mobility platform was created in 2022 as a joint initiative from Lindholmen Science Park and Vinnova. The aim is to promote research and innovation collaborations in sustainable mobility between Sweden and the USA.
With dedicated resources from Lindholmen Science Park on-site in both Stockholm and Silicon Valley, Future Mobility will function like a portal between the countries' innovation systems. Much is about lowering the thresholds for collaborations. Good connections to competence and networks enable Future Mobility to advise on ideas for projects and assist in the search for relevant project partners, among other things.
Future Mobility also finances selected bilateral projects via Vinnova. A first call opens on March 14, with three rounds of applications until November 30, 2023.
In Silicon Valley, it is Anders Dalén, project manager at Future Mobility, who enables innovation collaborations within the venture. As a change agent on the ground in the region, he acts as a door opener and advisor to connect American researchers, financiers, companies and startups with Swedish actors and networks.
