Future Mobility is carried out in close cooperation between Lindholmen Science Park and Vinnova, involving people in Sweden as well as in the United States. Following an organization change, Lars Ahlm at Vinnova’s office in Stockholm has recently replaced Eric Wallgren in Future Mobility’s management team.
Lars Ahlm brings over five years of experience managing innovation programs at Vinnova, many centered around sustainable mobility. During this time, he has worked on key initiatives such as InfraSweden, FFI, and NFFP, all aimed at advancing transport infrastructure and innovation. Prior to joining Vinnova, Lars spent 13 years as a climate scientist working both in Sweden and California, gaining valuable insights into the environmental impacts of transport. His experience also extends to consulting with AFRY, where he specialized in assessing the climate and environmental effects of transport infrastructure projects.
Is there something in your background that is particularly relevant to your role in Future Mobility?
– All the mobility programs I have been involved in at Vinnova are highly relevant to my role in Future Mobility. Additionally, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). During my time at UCSD, I was part of the 2010 California Research at the Nexus of Air Quality and Climate Change (CalNex) field study, which focused on air pollution in California’s Central Valley, particularly from road traffic and other sources.
Which are your first impressions of Future Mobility?
– Future Mobility is a well-organized platform with a clear and exciting focus on increasing innovation collaboration between the US and Sweden in the field of sustainable mobility. The platform’s emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing provides a foundation for driving impactful and innovative solutions.
