On April 23, professionals from across Sweden, the United States, and beyond gathered online to explore how digital tools like Streetmeter and Streetmix—including one developed through a Future Mobility-funded innovation project—can help transform car-centric streets into vibrant, human-centered spaces. The Streetmeter tool is now live and can support planners in both Sweden and the United States in making persuasive, data-driven arguments for sustainable street design.
The webinar, hosted by Future Mobility in collaboration with Spacescape, RISE, and Streetmix, introduced attendees to Streetmeter, a data-driven planning tool developed through a Future Mobility-supported innovation project. The tool is currently being tested in Swedish and American municipalities and helps planners make persuasive arguments for sustainable street design using measurable data.
Attendees also explored Streetmix, a platform for visualizing alternative street layouts and engaging stakeholders in urban redesign.
Urban planner and author Mike Lydon from Street Plans delivered a keynote lecture, sharing examples and design principles behind successful street transformations across North America.
