Sweden-California Mobility Professional Exchange Program Pilot
In this research and innovation knowledge exchange between Swedish and Californian transportation professionals in public sector focused on innovative mobility practices within shared mobility will be facilitaded.
The PEP builds on the success of the 2023 Sweden-California CoLab and will be coordinated by K2 together with Seamless Bay Area, and with support from a number of other organizations. The pilot will involve 3 exchanges from Sweden>California and one from California>Sweden to conduct investigative projects in the other country. The individuals will then share their learnings with their home organizations and a broader audience.
The pilot will consist of four phases: project initiation and planning, exchanges in California and Sweden, dissemination activities, and evaluation and next steps.
Project Idea
Building off of this success and strong interest from key partners, K2 and the initiative Rådslaget will develop and manage a pilot for a Sweden-California Mobility Professional Exchange Program (PEP). The program targets strategically selected transportation professionals in both countries who are committed to conducting focused investigative projects about innovative practices in the other country and sharing the learnings with their home organization and a network of affiliated organizations.
Project aim
Unlike other existing programs for individual mobility in Sweden, the ambition of this pilot is to explore how a thematically coherent approach can create synergies between individual exchanges and a structure for impact. The pilot will focus on only two geographies (Sweden and California), but the concept could in the future be developed into additional geographies.
