AI, Cyber & Digital Infrastructure: Vinnova Opens Funding for Swedish-U.S. Partnerships
Swedish innovators in AI, digital infrastructure, and cybersecurity are being offered a direct path to the United States market and partnership network. Vinnova has just opened a new international funding call, providing up to SEK 150,000 to establish collaborations and explore joint innovation projects with U.S. counterparts. The initiative is a key part of Sweden’s push to strengthen its position in advanced digitalization, culminating in an exclusive opportunity to join a Sweden–U.S. delegation to Silicon Valley in March 2026. The deadline for applications is November 25, 2025.
Sweden and California deepen cooperation on green transition
Sweden and California are taking concrete steps to strengthen their collaboration on climate action, sustainability, and innovation. Yesterday, government representatives from both regions met in Sacramento and online to kick off the implementation of the Letter of Cooperation on the Green Transition, signed in February 2024 by Sweden’s Minister for Trade Johan [name] and California Governor Gavin [name]. The meeting brought together 16 agencies and organizations to discuss joint initiatives in clean energy and sustainable transportation.
Preparing for the next step in urban mobility: insights from commercial robotaxi deployments
Driverless robotaxis—automated vehicles operating as taxi services—have moved beyond pilot projects into commercial deployment, particularly in the United States and China. A recent study, “Learning for Deployment of Robotaxis at Scale”, funded by Vinnova, the Swedish Innovation Agency, via Future Mobility, examines these deployments to prepare the public sector in Europe—especially in Sweden—for potential large-scale implementation.
